Pherkad. Silver necklace with Spectrolite

This art deco necklace is a unique piece. It is part of the Ursae Minoris collection.

This necklace is made of 950/1000 sterling silver. The design is 4 cm high and 3.5 cm wide, with a rope chain. The necklace closes with an original lobster clasp.. The total weight of the jewel is 24 gr 58 (without the stone) and it is embellished with a Spectrolite plate in a triangle measuring 2 cm by 2 cm by 1 cm. This designer jewel was hand-forged by the Galadrielle workshop, an artisan jeweller. To fashion this original creation, the jeweller first made sketches and drawings before assembling silver plates and wires that were cut and then soldered together. To make the jewel precious and shiny, it was completely polished by hand.

Spectrolite is a mineral from the silicate group.

The special feature of certain pieces is that they have a play of colours with a metallic sparkle. Blue and green are the colours most often present.

Hardness on Mohs scale 6 to 6.5

Spectrolite is found in Finland.

Due to the difference in light and screen settings, the colour of the stone may differ slightly from the images.
